People are very excited when they talked about Christmas. They do lots of preparation and lots of planning to make their Christmas day perfect and enjoyable. We can say that it is very nice to know that even we feel the economical crisis, people still try their best to make Christmas memorable to each of them but, is this enough to say that we, people, know the real meaning of Christmas? Do we need to spend lots of money just to feel the spirit of Christmas? Are parties, decorations and greeting cards are the only thing that can make our Christmas perfectly done? What does Christmas means to us? These are the questions that comes to my mind everytime I celebrate Christmas day. When Sir Hector gave the title, "Christmas For Sale" to our essay, those questions demands more deeper explanation for me. At first, I encounter trouble in myself to find something that can help me to construct my essay that's why I do some research about this thing. And that research helps me so much about it.
Christmas is designed for us people to celebrate the birth day of Jesus Christ. This is celebrate in the 25th day of December.Christmas were more appreciated by the Christians because they accepted that it is the exact date were Jesus Christ were born. At this moment, people in the whole world do different kinds of celebratory customs to show how they appreciate the coming of Jesus Christ or what we called the "Christmas Day". Some of the customs people usually do are making greeting cards, creating decorations like Lanterns and Christmas Tree, preparing special meals for the family and also to the expected visitors who will join the family and many more. There were also people who are fond in giving gifts to the street children and people who are in needs. When Christmas day comes, most of the people try their best to come to their family and celebrate it together. Sometimes, Christmas day is the only way how family become complete. Young children are the happiest human when Christmas day comes, because of the presents they will receive from their parents, godparents and other adults in the family. There were also some children who go house-to-house to sing some Christmas carols and as a prize, the owner of the house will give them some candies or coins. There where also places conduct parties and exchange gifts together with the neighborhood.
For me, the most important thing about Christmas is to know how to love. Love our family, love our friends, love our special someone, love ourselves and love our enemies. Once we feel the love in our hearts, we will know how to care, how to share and how to forgive. It is also the opportunity for us to thank all the people who always at our sides to support us all the time and also who cares and loves us in all the time and most of all, to thank GOD from all the blessings that we received through out the time. It is pleasant to know that we will celebrate the Christmas day without anger in our hearts. The most beautiful gift that we can give is to show to our love one's how happy we are to have them in our life. Maybe words are not enough to let them feel how are we thankful to have them, still, let us tell them that we love them. Especially today, we really need the spirit of Christmas not only on December 25 but also in everyday that we wake up. We need to spread the love to everyone and feel peace all the time. Lets stop the abuse, the violence, the anger, the discrimination and all the negative feelings and change it to positive emotions.
